This Table Top
was one of my all time favorate
pieces. If you click on the image you will see a close up of
the
design. The ivy and leaves are deep carved, while the grape
bunches are shaded. Shading is a technique that creates
shadowing
in the design. It's one of the hardest techniques for glass
etching artists to master. This created such a wonderful
contrast, which made the leaves and ivy "shine" and look whiter than
the grape bunches. It turned out to be an exceptional
contrast.
This one was
done for a customer that had just installed a wine cellar
in their home. They wanted a table that would reflect their
personality. This design was truly custom.

This design
was deep carved into a 1/2" thick table top that measured
48" in diameter. Tale note that the small "rays" appear clear
compared to the rest of the design. That's because we
"crystalized" those elements to get them to stand out.
This piece was done for one of our glass companies showroom.
Their table was already frosted, so we added the sun/moon design.
